  1. Gather information to explore the client's needs and situation:  
    • Determine the client's capabilities and challenges.  
    • Explore the client's intentions for the project.  
    • Inquire and evaluate the client's budget.  
  2. Perform a Home Assessment:  
    • Examine relevant aspects of the home that will impact the nature and overall effectiveness of the proposed work.  
    • Perform a detailed inspection of the general condition of the home, particularly the area being modified.  
    • Offer specific solutions, Universal Design strategies, time-frames and general estimates for the project.  
  3. Make a Plan:  
    • Determine the next steps, the purpose and timing of the next contact, where the meeting will take place, and  
    • Gather and provide the client with any requested information or specifications to assist in the decision-making process.
